Awesome Tattoo Inforgraphic By Paul Marcinkowski

Polish designer Paul Marcinkowski produced this Tattoo Inforgraphic while he was still studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. The whole inforgraphic is consisted of facts like the main reasons why people  despise having tattoos and other fun facts like how many tattoos can an average person could have. However, you might describe it. I think that this work is the ultimate call out for people to start getting inked.

Portfolios: Jon Tarranza

That happy pirate (he's not really a pirate)with the big smile up there is Jon Tarranza. He can pretty much be called as one of the most sought after graphic designers in the city right now. His  graphic design firm/business named Hue Dare that he runs with his girlfriend have been doing really good since it started out in 2011. At Hue Dare they create mind blowing designs for band logos,t-shirts, album covers, and even flyers. It is absolutely a must for you to try and check out their works on Hue Dare's Facebook Page

What I really like about Jon's works are the lines. I mean if you look at some of his works, especially some intended for t-shirt , you will definitely be amazed on how he makes use of those lines to add astonishing details to his designs. I had the opportunity to watch him at work when I tried to see what's happening on a digital art exhibit that took place that year, and I tell you that was a pretty awesome sight. It was like watching a spider creating his web- careful and and precise, and you just know that he is going to create something impressive in the end.

Here are some of Jon's Illustrations

If you are interested in hiring Jon to make some wicked designs for you then visit Hue Dare Facebook Page to get the details.

Portfolios: Alduane Maño (Digital Art)

This is not the first time that I made a feature about Alduane Maño and I have a feeling that this will not be the last. Yeah! He's that good. Good is even an understatement! Impeccable? I have used that word too many times in this blog. Let's just say that the word that I want to use is just right there, hidden between the pages of Webster or Thesaurus, and it surely kicks that ass of  the words "Good" and "Impeccable".

What I do know though is that Alduane's work never fails to amaze me. There's something thing about his designs that just makes you want to look at it for a very long time. I don't know if it is the concept, the colors, or the obvious attention to details---I just don't know. It might even be a combination of all those three elements. But one thing's for sure,Alduane really knows how to entertain our eyes by keeping his concepts interesting all the time but at the same time playing it soft on the colors.

Alduane now works as a freelance graphic designer. I bet that there is a slew of clients patiently waiting just to get him to create designs for them.  I mean, who wouldn't want that? Hiring a highly skilled and highly creative designer who takes care of the minutest---even almost unnoticeable details. Well, that is any employer's dream actually.

If you want to know more about Alduane like his favorite food and his preferences in music, you can actually check out the previous feature (one of our most popular posts in this blog)that I made about him. The feature also contains some of his old artworks that are also equally as awesome as the ones that the ones that you see in this one. I am also planning to talk about serious matters with this guy in the future. You should also look out for that.

You can also check out his online portfolio to see more of his works.

Now, feast your eyes on the addicting artworks by Alduane Maño.

Portfolios:Akiko Condez(Sketch)

On this installment of Davaoist Portfolios, we introduce to you the ery talented Akiko. She is  without a doubt one of the finest sketch artists  that I have known so far. Her works are often  dark and erotic, much like the ones you see featured  on Juxtapoz Magazine's Erotic Art category. There is an elegant eeriness to them that  pulls you in into a place of hidden emotions and desires. A place where everything is black and white, quiet, calm, but intense. By looking at her sketches, you can say that she is not the die-cast-polish-my-skills type of artist. Her skills in drawing are impeccable though and she surely has great attention to detail. But somehow, there is an inkling that she just let all of the lines lose and  let her emotions turn them into something magnificent.

One thing that you need to know about Akiko is that she is shy.
"I’m painfully shy. I bore people. But once I get comfortable with someone, I get to introduce to them my alter egos. And that’s how all the fun starts."
She also loves to talk to herself but she does it minus the voice but with all the gestures. When she is pissed off at something she tends to scream and cry. Sometimes she also throws and burns things which is pretty cool actually. I hope that she discovers that burning things before throwing way more fun than her usual ritual.

There is actually much that you need to know about Akiko. I have some snippets of the Q&A with Akiko that I did for this feature.

Me: What is your favourite food?
"Any pasta dish. Pizza, lasagna, baked mac/spag, etc.Fries. Fresh veggies. Japanese siomai, Sashimi, Sinigang na manok/ baboy/ hipon. Lechon! Oh god lechon.  Anything spicy. anything heavy on carbs."
Me: Favourite Band
"I could listen to almost everything. heavy metal, pop/punk, hiphop/rnb, experimental/electronica, etc. anything but kpop. Lol."
Akiko on how she started out and her inspirations:
"Subsequently, I practiced doodling on blackboards with colored chalks. First drew helicopters and then unicorns. I fell in love with unicorns almost instantly. I still think they’re the most fascinating mythical creatures to have ever existed in my imagination. I usually draw things I see in my dreams or even in nightmares. I like drawing things that scare me and fascinate me at the same time. That’s why most of my drawings resemble wretchedness and make-believe. I like nudes, too.  Nudity is elegant and ageless."
Akiko on why she likes black and white:
"If I could choose between a vibrantly colored photo and a black and white, I’d choose black and white. Why? Because colored photos have it all, its story is somehow already foretold. Black and white is lacking which makes it quite interesting. It’s like a lackluster representation of a certain subject but with the brilliance of mystery, a great story hidden behind it."
