Velvet Clothing Launches Their Badge Shirt

Here's how the shirts looks like. Pretty cool, huh?
Velvet Clothing, a new Davao-based clothing brand that focuses in creating well-designed street apparel, have released their badge t-shirt just recently. The "Velvet Badge" design, I think is a call for creative Davaoeños to start the design revolution in this city. This shirt is now up for grabs through their Facebook page at only Php 380 each. Visit the Velvet Clothing Facebook Page to Order one now!

Top 7 Davao-Based Clothing Brands

T-shirts for me, are the best things in the world. I say this because I am  not the type of guy who keeps up with the latest fashion trends. I am the plain-shirt-and-worn-out-jeans type of guy.You will not see me looking  exactly like the probably brainless guy that you have just seen in some fancy  magazine. I find myself as  the worst person to write an article which may  belong the to the fashion and style category. There is a chance that at the end of this article you will feel bad about me and would want to hug me, but you just have to deal with it for now until I find a way to revive Hunter S. Thompson from the grave so he can go Gonzo all over you brains. Believe me, that is impossible since he might be getting drunk with the devil right at this very moment.

Enough of that. Speaking of t-shirts, this article is actually about the  increasing number of clothing lines/brands that are popping out like mushrooms here in Davao City. I am not talking about people who know how to screen print and who are selling Bob Marley or Nirvana shirts and similar stuff. I am talking about the real deal here--young people in the city who have the knack for designing that are now running actual businesses. The well-designed graphic shirts that they are selling are the new must-haves. They have actually even killed the reign of Artwork in Davao City( that's how is see it though). But of course, I know that these brands don't want to be the next Artwork. Most of them are actually trying to represent a sub-culture, a graphic language of their own;which is actually pretty cool.

If you need to buy a new graphic shirt, then it would actually be a responsible choice for you to check what the local brands have to offer. I used the word "responsible" because I think that this is the best time that you should start supporting local brands, especially in the clothing business. You don't need to worry about the quality because a majority of them get their shirts from Manila which are by all standards the quality that you want. (One of the brands actually told me that the get theirs from Uyanguren which they really don't and that is a very very very stupid thing to do)

Anyway, I made a list of the the top 7 clothing brands in Davao City that you should really try to check out. I judged them not only on the quality of their designs, or their likes on Facebook ( which is practically useless) but as well as the brand's spirit. ( If you want to know more about Brand Spirit- you won't) Just check out the list that I made below, will you? :) Instead of writing descriptions of the brands, what I'll do is that I will just show a photo of my favorite shirt designs (ones that I  would really want to wear) from each brand and then  provide you a link to their Facebook Page. This is to allow you to explore the brands yourself, thus making it  easier for you to choose one which you will support.
